This design is the result of an origami workshop with Peggy Fearne and has been created by tesselating origami shapes together. The shape I chose to use here was a pyramid. The pyramids are created using a circle piece of paper as a base shape and structured by folding into halves and thirds. Instead of joining all the pyramid sides at a point, I decided to sew them into the centre of the base which created a curved floral shape. I then sewed each base together at the corners which created the spherical shape and achieved a hollow centre.
I am currently working on this design in different colours and sizes so please check back soon! I think it would look fantastic hung up in a window.
